Manhasset's LL Cool J has been named the Grammy Awards' first host in seven years.

“I'm thrilled to be part of music's biggest night,” said LL, a two-time Grammy winner in his own right. “I will always have fond memories of my first Grammy Awards and to now be hosting the Grammy show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true.”

Currently a star on CBS' “NCIs: Los Angeles,” LL, who grew up in Bay Shore, is the latest Long Islander to host the awards show, following Billy Crystal and Rosie O'Donnell. He has been hosting “The Grammy Nominations Live!” show since 2008.

The Grammy Awards will air Feb. 12 on CBS, with Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars, Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson, and the Foo Fighters set to perform. Kanye West leads the nominations with seven, while Adele, Foo Fighters and Bruno Mars have six nominations apiece.
