HOT SONG
Matt Nathanson's "Faster" (Vanguard) captures the love-drunk giddiness that so many pop songs are after these days. Maybe it's the jangly guitar straight out of George Michael's "Faith." Maybe it's his giggly falsetto in the bridge. Or the bubbly way he rhymes "disaster" and "faster" in the chorus, as if "disaster" in a love song is a good idea. Actually, in this case, it is thanks to his enthusiasm and the way "Faster" just dares you not to smile.
