MTV cuts Miley's pot-smoking from U.S. broadcast
MTV edited the U.S. broadcast of its European Music Awards Sunday evening to excise Miley Cyrus' apparent pot-smoking, Newsday contributor Frank Lovece reports. While online video clips of the European telecast from Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome saw Cyrus pull an apparent marijuana cigarette from her purse, light it and take a puff as she accepted the best music video award, the American version cut to a wide shot of the auditorium's interior and then a close-up of the crowd before cutting back to Cyrus thanking her fans.
