Music awards in the key of O

This one puts the O in OMG.

MTV last week announced categories and nominees for its inaugural O Music Awards -- apparently short for "online," since the O "celebrates and honors the art, creativity, personality, technology and migration of music into the digital space," according to an MTV statement.

Lady Gaga and rapper Tyler the Creator lead with three nominations each, including the innovative artist nod.

Other online-centric nomination categories include:

Best animal performance (among the noms, versions of Willow Smith's "Whip My Hair" and Drowning Pool's "Bodies" videos -- done with a parrot)

Must-follow artist on Twitter (50 Cent, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj are three of the nominees.)

Most viral dance (Cali Swag District's "The Dougie" and Ginuwine's "Pony")
