Nicki Minaj pulled out of last night's Hot 97 Summer Jam at MetLife Stadium after one of the station's on-air personalities dissed her single “Starships.”

“I know there's some chicks here waiting to sing 'Starships' later, I'm not talking to y'all right now,” DJ Peter Rosenberg said as he introduced rapper Kendrick Lamar, earlier in the evening before tossing out some expletives to describe the Minaj single. “I'm here to talk about real hip-hop.”

Once Lil Wayne, who runs the Young Money Cash Money Billionaires label that Minaj is signed to, heard about the comment, he declared on Twitter, “Young Money ain't doing summer jam.”

Minaj, who was set to headline the show, then tweeted, “I go above and beyond for my fans. But won't ever go against Wayne's word. What he says, goes.”

Some of the guests for Minaj's set, including Nas and Lauryn Hill, performed in her place. But other Young Money Cash Money Billionaires acts, including DJ Khaled and Busta Rhymes, also withdrew from the show, according to MTV.com.

How far will both sides take this beef? Hard to say. While Minaj could do just fine with pop and dance radio stations, the rest of the YMCMB acts need hip-hop radio support. Then again, if Hot 97 doesn't play Minaj and Wayne and other popular acts on that roster, won't its listeners go somewhere that does? Stay tuned.
