The Paramount finished 2018 as one of the Top 5 clubs in the world, according to trade magazine Pollstar.
The Huntington club sold more than 178,000 tickets in 2018 for more than 170 events — including high-profile shows by Jericho native Madison Beer, The Beach Boys, comedian Jim Breuer’s residency and “King of Queens” star and Stony Brook native Kevin James — to land at No. 5 again this year on Pollstar’s list, as it did in 2017.
The Anthem in Washington, D.C., finished at No. 1 with 392,000 tickets sold, followed by House of Blues Boston and The 9:30 Club, also in Washington.
“After seven years, the venue has proven itself to be a top destination for the best entertainers around,” Paramount co-owner Brian Doyle said in a statement. “We will continue to push the envelope in 2019 as we work to provide Long Islanders with the best music, funniest comedians and the most memorable live event experiences available.”
The club — which passed two milestones in 2018, selling its millionth ticket and hosting its 1,000th show since opening in 2011 — already has 60 shows on sale for 2019, including two nights with Judas Priest and four shows with comedian Jim Gaffigan.
