Although Prince is gone, his musical legacy lives on through the dance floor. On Friday night, Subculture, a New Wave dance club at Suite 1828 on Sunrise Highway in Merrick, will hold a special tribute to the Purple One at 9 p.m.
“We will be playing a four-block of Prince songs at the top of every hour,” says DJ Tim Cody, 44, of Alternative Sounds. “Prince is a big request. He’s always been a fan favorite.”
Guests can expect to hear hits like “Kiss,” “Let’s Go Crazy” and “When Doves Cry” mixed in with deep cuts like “Sexy MF,” “Gett Off,” “Delirious” and “Pop Life.” There will even be a complimentary dessert/coffee bar serving Raspberry Beret and Under the Cherry Moon cupcakes.
Admission is $10 (21 and over) and guests are encouraged to wear something purple. For more information, visit facebook.com/subculture-at-the-suite-147513405261824
