It's well into April, and record lovers' hearts are aflutter. Yes, that day of days for the vinyl devotee is upon us once again: the needle drops on Record Store Day 2013 on April 20.

In honor of this celebration, which has been occurring since 2008, we look at some of the special offerings from our local talent. (A complete list is available at recordstoreday.com.)

Anthony Raneri and the boys' live 2008 album came out the day their official fourth studio release, "Shudder," hit the streets. This is the first time the album's been on vinyl.

St. Joan of Rock and her merry men's 1983 album, um, "Album," gets its first-ever vinyl reissue on the Blackheart Records label. Have you ever heard "Fake Friends" or their update of Sly and the Family Stone's "Everyday People" on translucent yellow vinyl?

In honor of the Roosevelt group's induction in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, all of its classics are here, digitally rerecorded and remastered for vinyl: "Fight the Power," "By the Time I Get to Arizona," the great new "Everything" and many more.

Keep in mind that not all Record Store Day specials will be available at all record stores. Here are a few indie establishments left on the Island.
