The Red Hot Chili Peppers will join Bruno Mars during the Super Bowl XLVIII Halftime Show at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., on Feb. 2.

The Peppers – singer Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Chad Smith and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer – were already set to headline WFAN’s “Big Hello to Brooklyn” at Barclays Center on Feb. 1, which is already sold out.

It’s not clear what role the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers will have during Mars’ show or how they will interact with the “Locked Out of Heaven” singer’s eight-piece band, The Hooligans.

Is it too much to hope for a mashup of “Treasure” and “Give It Away,” complete with some sort of money drop? Yeah, probably.
