Review of T.I.'s new 'Ball': It's lazy
The track behind T.I.'s new single "Ball" (Grand Hustle) is so catchy -- a Dirty South groove welded to a spare, Neptunes-like percussion track -- that he could pretty much be rapping nonsense and it would still sound hot. The problem is that he's basically rapping nonsense, going on about how "this club so packed" and how the women (he uses a derogatory term) are so drunk. Sure, "Ball" is a party track, especially when Lil Wayne drops by, but it's also lazy and a wasted opportunity.
