Review of will.i.am's 'Scream and Shout'
Everything about will.i.am's new single "Scream and Shout" (Interscope) sounds synthesized, from the rubbery bass line to Britney Spears' strange, manipulated harmonies. But all that fakery makes the dance anthem sound hollow, so thin that when will.i.am sings, "I want to scream and shout and let it all out," it sounds like all the emotion has been drained from it. "Scream and Shout" needs some believable Fergiesque hollering to save it or some apl.de.ap warmth.
