Rihanna's new single 'Diamonds' is catchy

Rihanna has a lot of faith in her new single, "Diamonds" (Def Jam), naming her upcoming world tour after it and launching her upcoming seventh album with it. It's a bit risky, considering the midtempo "Diamonds" doesn't sound like a hit-you-over-the-head smash. But it's catchy and seems to signal a personal shift. "I choose to be happy," Rihanna sings early on, before declaring, "You and I, we're beautiful like diamonds in the sky." Apparently, love has moved out of the hopeless place.
