Robin Thicke video 'Get Her Back' appears to be a plea to wife Paula Patton

In the newly released music video for his single "Get Her Back," singer Robin Thicke appears to be making his strongest appeal yet to reconcile with his estranged wife, actress Paula Patton, from whom he became separated in February.

In the mostly black-and-white video, a shirtless Thicke, 37, directly addresses the camera, plaintively singing such lyrics as "I gotta treat her right, I gotta cherish her for life," while the clip often cuts away to a sultry brunette woman who resembles "Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol" co-star Patton, 38.

Interspersed throughout the video, directed by three-time Grammy Award-winner Jonas Åkerlund (Madonna's "Ray of Light," Lady Gaga's "Telephone" featuring Beyoncé), are graphics in the form of text messages.

Those with a gray background scold, "You drink too much," "How could you do that to me?" "You embarrassed me" and similar phrases, while those with a white background beseech, "I'm sorry," "I miss u" and "I wrote a whole album about you." The three-minute and 43-second video ends with a text message promising, "This is just the beginning."

Patton and "Blurred Lines" singer Thicke, the son of "Growing Pains" star Alan Thicke, married on June 11, 2005, and have a son, Julian Fuego, born in April 2010 in Los Angeles.

Patton, who has not publicly responded to the overture, told Vanity Fair magazine in May, "All I can tell you is there's a deep love there -- always was, and always will be."
