It has come to this.
Forget for a moment rapper Snoop Dogg's reinvention as Snoop Lion, a reggae artist. How about Snoop Dogg, pitchman? Yep, the California hip-hop artist has reworked "Drop It Like It's Hot," that classic from 2004, into "Pocket Like It's Hot." To. Sell. Hot Pockets.
Here's a taste of Snoop's new ode to the nukable meat-cheese-sometimes-veggie-filled turnover:
"Home with kids in the crib Ma/Pocket like it's hot/When the craving's got a hold of you/Pocket like it's hot/And your munchies get an attitude/Pocket like it's hot/I've got the pockets in my arms/Setting off smoke alarms/And I eat 'em while it's hot/'Cause I got it goin' on."
The brand, produced by Nestlé, has received some guffaws over the years, most notably from comedian Jim Gaffigan, who has mentioned the meal-in-a-crust in his act: "I've never eaten a Hot Pocket and then thought, 'I'm glad I ate that.'"
Guess the Hot Pockets War has begun.
