Guitar hero Steve Vai is coming home this summer. The Carle Place native will host his Vai Academy 5.0 at The Mansion at Glen Cove from July 29 through Aug. 2.

The guitar camp will include classes, study and discussions on technique and theory about the instrument as well as live performances. There will be multiple guest artists including Joe Satriani, who grew up in Westbury.

Tickets, which include four overnight stays, three meals each day. All workshops, activities and entertainment, multiple jam rooms loaded with gear to play, parking and Wi-Fi, run from $2,099 up to $3,499 (the latter with a nonparticipating significant other).
