Long Island’s favorite emo band is coming home for the holidays. Taking Back Sunday returns to Mulcahy’s Pub & Concert Hall in Wantagh for back-to-back concerts on Dec. 7 and 8.

The band is fresh off its “Summer Gods Tour” with Third Eye Blind, which played Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater on July 17. A new album, which was recorded at VuDu Studios in Port Jefferson, is expected to drop this fall. Taking Back Sunday released a single in June with DJ Steve Aoki called, “Just Us Two.”

Last December, the group sold out two dates at Mulcahy’s and hopes to make it an annual stop on its touring schedule.

“Taking Back Sunday is different on Long Island than everywhere else,” drummer Mark O’Connell of Long Beach told Newsday in 2021. “It’s that hometown thing. We have to bring it every time."

Tickets ($45) for both shows go on sale Friday at noon via muls.com. All attendees must be 18 or older to enter.
