Taylor Swift's new single, "Sweeter Than Fiction" (Big Machine), sounds like it's straight from a John Hughes movie.
The electronic drum fills, the buzzing synths, and, most important, the struggling-then-triumphant lyrics are all very "Pretty in Pink," without losing any of Swift's already well-established style or the cool generated by fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff. "I'll be one of the many saying, 'Look at you now,' " Swift sings in the first single from "One Chance," the movie about opera singer Paul Potts, discovered on "Britain's Got Talent."
Maybe Molly Ringwald can be in the video.
