Taylor Swift is the biggest female star in the world today.

In case there was any doubt remaining, Swift announced "The 1989 World Tour" Monday, making her the only woman to fill stadiums as a solo headliner. The stadium run starts May 20 in Bossier City, Louisiana, and winds through the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands and Canada before wrapping up Oct. 31 in Tampa, Florida. The tour, featuring Vance Joy and Shawn Mendes as openers, stops at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 11. Currently, New York's Global Welcome Ambassador is not scheduled to play a show in her adopted hometown on this tour, though she will appear at Z100's Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 12 and in Times Square on New Year's Eve.

Tickets for her MetLife Stadium show go on sale on Nov. 14. American Express cardholders can purchase pre-sale tickets starting Friday.

Swift's "1989" (Big Machine) album is expected to have sold well more than 1 million copies last week, making it the year's top-selling album after only seven days of sales. Her final tally will be announced Wednesday, when we learn if she topples Britney Spears' "Oops! . . . I Did It Again" for biggest sales week ever for a female artist.

To help drive sales, Swift pulled her music from Spotify Monday, meaning "Shake It Off," the service's most-streamed song last week, is now gone.

Spotify said "we hope she'll change her mind and join us in building a new music economy that works for everyone."
