Twisted Sister to play Sandy benefit in Patchogue
They wanna rock – and help with superstorm Sandy relief efforts.
Twisted Sister will play The Emporium in Patchogue on Dec. 16 to support Long Islanders hit by the storm. “We are excited to be able to show our love to the people of Long Island who have been impacted by this storm and bring them a rock show for the ages,” guitarist JJ French said in a statement.
The Emporium is donating $10,000 to the effort, according to a statement. The venue’s goal is to raise $100,000 for the effort; it plans to donate 100 percent of the proceeds from ticket sales and bar revenue to local families and Sandy recovery causes and charities, including Long Island Cares Inc. -- The Harry Chapin Food Bank and the Island Park Music Program, whose musical instruments were lost in the floodwaters.
Tickets and more information are now available at theemporiumny.com. More special guests will be announced soon.
