Video: Bruce Springsteen plays Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ at Barclays Center concert
When The Boss covers The Purple One, it’s something to see.
Bruce Springsteen opened his concert Saturday night at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center with Prince’s “Purple Rain,” according to video shared by YouTube user Stan Goldstein.
It’s at least the third time this year Springsteen has paid homage to late musicians at his concerts. In January, he played David Bowie’s “Rebel, Rebel” after Bowie’s death, and The Eagles’ “Take It Easy” after the band’s singer, Glenn Frey, died that same month.
Prince died Thursday at his Paisley Park compound in suburban Minneapolis. He was 57.
