VMA preview: Video of the Year? Lady Gaga, "Telephone"
The big prize of the evening will go to Lady Gaga, who, deservedly so, will see this year's MTV Video Music Awards as her coronation. The only question is which of her videos will get the nod.
"Telephone," with Beyonce, is epic and should have the edge, but "Bad Romance" is the Lady alone and that may draw more Little Monsters' votes. Florence and the Machine, whose "Dog Days Are Over" looks like it was shot for less than the honey-bun budget on "Telephone," is a surprise nominee, though it suceeds on Flo's fun performance.
Also rans in this category are Eminem's "Not Afraid," 30 Seconds to Mars' "King and Queens," and B.O.B's "Airplanes." Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars? Sure. But all the wishes won't dethrone Gaga.
You can vote at MTV's site.
