Weezer and The Flaming Lips are teaming up to make their shows at PNC Bank Arts Center (July 28) and Nikon at Jones Beach Theater (July 29) a little more special.
The pair of alternative rock heavyweights have already been touring together all summer, but for these two shows they will play side-by-side on the same stage, trading off songs for their entire super-sized set.
"The Flaming Lips and Weezer are playing a show together...where they are actually playing together," Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne said in a statement.
Of course, the joint effort doesn't mean that either band will be giving up its trademark concert moves.
"I asked Wayne if he has an extra bubble I could ride in," Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo joked.
No word if there will be any mash-ups at the two shows, though we can hope for “She Don't Use Pork and Beans” and “My Name Is Superman,” right?
