2. Grand opening of Parrish Art Museum

Long Island's fine art scene gets a serious upgrade next weekend, when the new $26.2 million Parrish Art Museum opens in Water Mill. With more than three times the exhibition space as its former location in Southampton, patrons can expect to see a host of historic and contemporary works, including art by William Merritt Chase, Fairfield Porter and a host of other artists with East End ties.

3. Disney on Ice

Fairy-tale characters return to Nassau Coliseum for six days of performances -- Disney on Ice's latest production, "Rockin' Ever After," features Ariel, Rapunzel and Belle, plus the adventurous heroine Merida from "Brave" making her debut.

4. Meet Don Mattingly

Fans know the current manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers is originally a New Yorker -- as far as baseball goes. The former Yankees captain and first baseman -- aka "The Hit Man" -- is scheduled to sign autographs Saturday at Steiner Sports Store in Roosevelt Field.

Local craft breweries and global specialty beermakers appear at the International Great Beer Expo at Belmont Park in Elmont. 8. 'ImaginOcean'

Former "Sesame Street" team member and puppeteer John Tartaglia presents a glow-in-the-dark family adventure at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury. The musical black-light puppet show turns the stage into an underwater sea, with the story line showing how three best friends -- who just happen to be fish -- discover the true meaning of friendship.

9. 'Cirque Chinois'
