'Smurfs' sequel in the worksWith "The Smurfs" becoming perhaps the biggest surprise hit at the box office this summer, Sony announced Tuesday that it's moving forward with a sequel, The Wrap.com reports. "Smurfs 2" will debut Aug. 2, 2013, the studio said. Sony didn't release any other details, including whether Neil Patrick Harris will be back to take on the lead role. "Smurfs" has grossed $135 million after less than two weeks of worldwide release.
