'Snooki' promotes tanning salon in Lindenhurst
MTV "Jersey Shore" cast member Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi appeared at a Lindenhurst tanning salon Sunday night to help promote a one-day $5 special.
About 200 people showed up for the event, said Joe Maher, owner of Beach Glow Tanning.
"A lot of the girls were screaming when she came in," he said. "She's basically a star."
Polizzi tanned for 14 minutes in a level three bed, he said.
But she spent most of her time signing autographs, posing for photos and hamming it up for cell phone videos - all while the salon kept the TV tuned to a "Jersey Shore" marathon on MTV.
"It's bigger than 'The Hills' now," Maher said.
