Eagles' QB Vick cancels Oprah appearance

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick will not be appearing on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" after all, The Associated Press reports. A show spokesman said Wednesday representatives of the NFL star called late Tuesday to cancel his appearance for personal reasons. The daytime talk show host's interview with Vick was set to air Feb. 24. The interview was to cover Vick's time in federal prison, his public service work with the Humane Society and his return to the NFL. Vick missed two seasons and served 18 months for a dogfighting operation based on his property in Surry County, Va.

Alba expecting No. 2

Jessica Alba, who stars in the upcoming "Spy Kids 4," yesterday announced she's expecting her second child. "I thought I'd drop by to let you all in on some exciting news - Honor is going to be a Big Sister!" wrote Alba, 29, on her Twitter and Facebook pages, according to People magazine. She said she and her husband, Cash Warren, "are thrilled and wanted to share the news directly with you so you didn't hear about it somewhere else." The couple's daughter, Honor Marie, was born in June 2008.

'Jeopardy' title goes to Watson computer

The machine wins. Watson, the IBM computer pitted against the two best players in "Jeopardy!" history, yesterday became the best, winning a $1 million prize which IBM said will be donated to charity, reports Newsday's Verne Gay. Former champ Ken Jennings landed in second and Brad Rutter in third. The victory was lopsided. When Jennings got a chance to double his board total yesterday, he joked, "I'm in bad shape - I could either bet it all or unplug Watson." Watson did not laugh.
