'Annie' to close on Broadway in January

Annie" will not be seeing too many more tomorrows. The critically acclaimed musical revival, starring Lilla Crawford, will play its final performance on Broadway Jan. 5, Newsday's Daniel Bubbeo reports. The production, which opened Nov. 8 at the Palace Theatre, will have played 487 performances and 38 previews when it closes. "Annie," which was nominated for best musical revival at this year's Tony Awards, will launch a national tour in the 2014-2015 season.
