Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious might be one way to describe the lineup of shows for The Argyle Theatre's 2026-27 season announced on Friday, though Dylan Perlman, co-owner and managing partner of the Babylon venue with his father, Mark, has another word.

"I hate to keep using the word joyful, but that's what these shows are," he said, referring to the lineup of "On Your Feet!," "Mary Poppins," "All Shook Up," The Cher Show" and "Jimmy Buffett's Escape to Margaritaville."

"One of the things we found very interesting when we were putting this season together was the thing that all five have in common is that they all involve the music of iconic people, whether they be real, live or imaginary," Perlman said.

"On Your Feet!," which kicks off the new season from Sept. 17 to Oct. 25, is a jukebox musical that tells the story of Cuban American pop star Gloria Estefan and her musician-producer husband, Emilio Estefan, and features dozens of their hits.

The Argyle's holiday offering is the Disney family favorite "Mary Poppins" (Nov. 2-Jan. 3) based on P.L. Travers' classic story of a nanny who works her magic on a London household.

Shakespeare meets the King of Rock and Roll in "All Shook Up" (Jan. 28-March 14), a 1950s-set musical inspired by "Twelfth Night" and performed to the songs of Elvis Presley.

"The Cher Show" (April 8-May 30) tells the story of the legendary singer and actor and stars three different performers portraying her at various stages of her life.

The jukebox gets amped up again for the final offering of the season, "Jimmy Buffett's Escape to Margaritaville" (July 1-Sept. 5, 2027), a tropical-flavored musical set on an island resort where love is in bloom and salt shakers are lost.

Season ticket sales for current subscribers begin on Friday with season ticket packages available to the general public on June 26. Tickets for the individual shows go on sale July 1. To purchase, go to argyletheatre.com or call 844-631-5483.

Perlman added that anyone who purchases a new season package will also receive a ticket to The Argyle's upcoming production of "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical," which runs from June 25 through Aug. 30. It's a "Beautiful" thing.
