The revival of "Company," featuring the songs of Stephen Sondheim and a Tony Award-winning performance by Northport native Patti LuPone, is about to end its Broadway run. Producers announced Tuesday night that the show would play its final performance on July 31.

The announcement comes only a little more than a week after "Company" picked up five Tonys on June 12. In addition to LuPone's featured actress win, the show won for best musical revival, featured actor (Matt Doyle), Marianne Elliott's direction and Bunny Christie's scenic design.

“It remains the honor of a lifetime to bring Stephen Sondheim and [book writer] George Furth’s masterpiece to Broadway in Marianne Elliott’s Tony Award-winning reimagined production," producer Chris Harper said in a statement. "It is a testament to the dedication of everyone who works on the production that we have withstood all the challenges that Broadway has faced over the last two years to share this show with our amazing audiences."

The revival made several updates to the original version of the show, which opened on Broadway in 1970 and starred Dean Jones as Bobby, a bachelor unable to commit to a long-lasting relationship. The new production stars Katrina Lenk as Bobbie, a woman who's not ready for marriage.

"Company" began previews on March 2, 2020, and was set to open on March 22, 2020, which would have been Sondheim's 90th birthday. The Broadway lockdown on March 12 due to the coronavirus pandemic put the show on hold. It resumed previews last Nov. 15 and finally opened on Dec. 9 — 13 days after Sondheim died at 91. When the show closes, it will have played 268 regular performances and 32 previews.

A North American tour of "Company" is planned for the 2023-24 season.
