Four-time Emmy Award-winner Edie Falco, who grew up in West Islip and Northport will join Northport-raised "The Mindy Project" star Chris Messina in a staged reading of Thornton Wilder's classic play "Our Town" to benefit Northwell Health's Huntington Hospital's Neurosurgery Department.

The annual fundraiser at Northport's John W. Engeman Theater, set for Sept. 4,  is produced in conjunction with Messina and his siblings' family in memory of father Philip Messina — who died in February 2018 at age 74 of glioblastoma multiforme   brain cancer -- and mother Phyllis Messina. Additional casting will be announced. Tickets are $200, on sale at EngemanTheater.com, or by calling 631-261-2900, or at the box office at 250 Main Street.

"The Sopranos" and "Nurse Jackie" star Falco, 59, earned the most recent of her 14 Emmy nominations for the 2017 NBC miniseries "Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders." Messina, who turned 48 on Thursday,  appeared most recently in Starz's Watergate miniseries "Gaslit," starring Julia Roberts.
