The countdown is on for “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.” Tickets go on sale at 11 a.m. on Oct. 18, but Ticketmaster’s new Verified Fan process is in effect, meaning you need to register between 10 a.m. Oct. 1 and 10 p.m. Oct. 5 to get an access code that will allow you to buy tickets.

Jack Thorne’s play, still a major hit in London, is based on an original story by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany and Thorne. In it, Harry is grown up, married with three kids and employed by the Ministry of Magic. It’s presented in two parts, with fans encouraged to see it at a matinee/evening performance or on two consecutive nights. Previews start March 16 with an April 22 opening at the Lyric Theatre.

Ticket prices run from $20 per part (150 available at each performance, with another 150 at $40) up to $199 per part, with higher prices for premium seating. Go to harrypottertheplay.com to register with Ticketmaster.
