 THE OPERETTA "The Pirates of Penzance" 
 THE DEAL More than 30 years ago, the Public Theater staged a smashing revival of Gilbert &amp; Sullivan's "The Pirates of Penzance" (led by a pre-famous Kevin <a href="/topics//Kevin_Kline">Kline</a>) at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park that later transferred to Broadway. The Public announced last week that it will present a one-night performance of "Pirates" at the Delacorte during its annual gala on June 10. At last year's gala, Kline and <a href="/topics//Meryl_Streep">Meryl Streep</a> headlined a staged reading of "Romeo and Juliet." 
 THE SHOW "Beautiful: The <a href="/topics//Carole_King">Carole King</a> Musical" 
 THE DEAL: The new bigraphical show based on the life of singer-songwriter Carole <a href="/topics//Carole_King">King</a> will receive an industry reading next month, directed by Marc Bruni ("Old Jews Telling Jokes"). Its producers are hoping to bring the show, which will feature music industry figures such as The Shirelles, <a href="/topics//Dick_Clark">Dick Clark</a> and <a href="/topics//Neil_Sedaka">Neil Sedaka</a> as characters, to Broadway next season.
