The curtain is about to go back up on "Plaza Suite" and "Paradise Square" after both shows were forced to temporarily halt performances when cast members in each tested positive for COVID-19.
"Plaza Suite," which stars the husband-and-wife team of Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker, will resume performances Thursday night. Broderick tested positive on April 5 and two days later, it was announced that Parker also had COVID-19. The limited-run revival of Neil Simon's comedy runs through July 6.
The new musical "Paradise Square," which opened April 3, halted performances April 7 due to positive cases of COVID-19 among the company. The show, which is set in 1863 in the multicultural slum of Five Points in lower Manhattan, will start up again on Tuesday. Performances were planned to resume on Saturday, but got pushed back due to additional coronavirus cases within the company, the producers said.
