'Scandalous,' 'Anarchist,' 'Chaplin' to close
It's going to be a dark Christmas for two new Broadway shows.
"Scandalous: The Life and Trials of Aimee Semple McPherson," which has book and lyrics by Kathie Lee Gifford and stars Carolee Carmello, will close Sunday after 31 previews and 29 performances.
Also, David Mamet's "The Anarchist," starring Patti LuPone and Debra Winger, will close Dec. 16 after 23 previews and 17 performances.
"Chaplin," the biographical musical, will at least make it through the holidays. But the show will close Jan. 6 after 24 previews and 136 performances.
