"Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark," the long-delayed musical directed by Julie Taymor ("The Lion King") with music by Bono and The Edge, will finally begin previews Nov. 14 for a Christmas-week opening Dec. 21.

The extravaganza, which has had major cast changes and at least two postponements since originally announced, will star Reeve Carney as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Jennifer Damiano as Mary Jane Watson and Patrick Page as the Green Goblin. The name of the theater is now Foxwoods Theatre, which was changed Monday from the Hilton Theatre.

Destined to be one of the most expensive musicals in Broadway history, it has been in the works for six years and faced financial hurdles.
