"The Music Man," starring Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster, has extended its Broadway run two weeks, to Jan. 15.

“The hunger of audiences for our show continues unabated," said Kate Horton, a producer of the current revival of Meredith Willson's musical, in a statement Monday. "We are grateful to Hugh and Sutton and our entire glorious company for agreeing to add these additional 16 performances. The joy they bring to audiences night after night is incredible to witness and we know this 'The Music Man' will be remembered long after the final curtain comes down. If we could go on forever, we would.”

Using a conceit from the musical, about a con man persuading an Iowa town in 1912 to form a marching band, the show's social media posted, "The think system worked! … Get your tickets before the train leaves the station!”

Directed by Jerry Zaks and nominated for six Tony Awards, this third revival of the 1957 classic opened Feb. 10 after 46 previews and will have played 374 regular performances.
