THE DEAL Though the musical does not officially open until Thursday, Disney Theatricals is already looking to increase the ticket prices. As reported by the website BroadwayJournal.com, top ticket prices will go to $327.50 from $277.50 (beginning in August) and then to $352.50 (beginning next March). During the winter holidays, the top ticket price will be $377.50. Of course, you can also try your luck at winning the lottery for a limited number of discounted $30 tickets.

THE SHOW “Fiddler on the Roof”

THE DEAL Joel Grey will direct the U.S. premiere of the Yiddish-language adaptation of the musical for National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in lower Manhattan. “This will be a bold and rich reimagination, with a highly acclaimed group of theater artists from Broadway that will respectfully re-envision this classic theater touchstone in fresh ways,” Grey said in a statement. The production, which opens July 4, marks the first time the Yiddish “Fiddler” has been staged since it premiered in Israel more than 50 years ago.

THE SHOW “Bedknobs and Broomsticks”

THE DEAL A stage musical adaptation of the 1971 Disney film “Bedknobs and Broomsticks,” which starred Angela Lansbury as an aspiring witch who goes on magical adventures with a pack of kids, will receive its world premiere next year at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. This marks the latest stage version of a movie musical with songs by brothers Richard M. and Robert B. Sherman, following “Mary Poppins” and “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.”

THE SHOW “Smokey Joe’s Café”

THE DEAL The 1950s rock and roll revue “Smokey Joe’s Café,” which enjoyed a lengthy run on Broadway in the 1990s, will receive a commercial Off-Broadway revival by the show’s original producers. It will open in July at the long vacant Stage 42. The Leiber and Stoller songs in “Smokey Joe’s Café” include “On Broadway,” “Jailhouse Rock,” “Hound Dog” and “Stand by Me.”
