 THE PLAY "Machinal" 
 THE DEAL Rebecca Hall ("Iron Man 3") will make her Broadway debut next season in a revival of Sophie Treadwell's rarely seen 1928 drama <a href="https://newsdaynow.wikispaces.com/Entertainment+related+items">"Machinal"</a> She will play a lonely wife and mother who becomes involved in an affair and eventually with murder. It will be produced by the Roundabout at the American Airlines Theatre, with previews starting in December.

 THE PLAY "Vanya and Sonia . . ." 
 Genevieve Angelson, who played Nina in "<a href="http://www.playbill.com/events/event_detail/25262-Vanya-and-Sonia-and-Masha-and-Spike-at-John-Golden-Theatre">Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike</a>" on Broadway, has left the show, though her departure was never officially announced by the producers. According to a spokesman for the production, Angelson is still considered part of the cast but has taken a "temporary leave from the show." It's unclear whether she will return before July 28, currently the end date for the limited-run production. The role of Nina is now being played by Liesel Allen Yeager. 
 THE MUSICAL "Soul Doctor" 
 THE DEAL "<a href="http://souldoctoronbroadway.com/">Soul Doctor</a>," a new musical about the life of the late Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, will open at Broadway's Circle in the Square in August. Carlebach, who wrote countless pop songs starting in the 1950s, performed with the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane and Bob Dylan.

 THE DEAL Although "The Mystery of Edwin Drood" received a handful of Tony nominations, including best musical revival, it looks as if the cast will not reunite to perform on the <a href="http://www.tonyawards.com/index.html">Tonys</a>. "We will not be performing. Trust us," Stephanie J. Block, who was nominated for her performance as Drood, tweeted. "We want to. It's just not 'in the cards' this year." On the other hand, the cast of "A Christmas Story," which was nominated for best musical, will reunite to perform on the awards show, where presenters will include Scarlett Johansson (who was not nominated for "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof"), Cuba Gooding Jr. (also not nominated for "The Trip to Bountiful"), Jesse Eisenberg, Jon Cryer and Tom Hanks. Noticeably absent from the list: Bette Midler, whose star vehicle "I'll Eat You Last" was completely snubbed.
