Steve Martin and Martin Short, the stars of "Only Murders in the Building," will not be the only major stars in the building known as Tilles Center for the Performing Arts next season. Ballet virtuoso Misty Copeland, Broadway's Kristen Chenoweth and "Sesame Street" faves Big Bird and Elmo are among the other heavy hitters coming to the Brookville venue.

The theater announced its 2024-25 season on Thursday, which will start off with its inaugural Jazz Fest on July 20 to be headlined by saxophonist Branford Marsalis and his quartet.

Actor-comedians Martin and Short have been tapped to headline the Tilles Center's gala on Oct. 19 with their show "The Dukes of Funnytown." Proceeds from the annual fundraiser will be used to benefit Tilles' arts and education programs.

Other events on the schedule include a series of Stars on Stage concerts featuring Broadway talents including Mandy Gonzalez (Oct. 1), Chenoweth (Nov. 15) and Michael Feinstein with the Carnegie Hall Jazz Tribute Band saluting Tony Bennett (Jan. 31).

Copeland will not be dancing when she comes to Tilles on April 26. Instead she will take part in a conversation about her groundbreaking career as the first Black principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre.

If you missed these Tony-winning shows on Broadway, the national touring companies of "Dear Evan Hansen" (Jan. 9), "The Cher Show" (Feb. 4) and "Come From Away" (April 3) will be taking the Tilles stage. In addition, a new edition pf "Celebrity Autobiography" is planned for Sept. 28 and "Broadway Perspectives: A Concert Celebrating Diversity" is set for Black History Month on Feb. 20.

Classical music gets it due with a concert by cellist Yo-Yo Ma (April 27). Other classical programs include the London Philharmonic Orchestra with Randall Goosby (Oct. 20) and the Massapequa Philharmonic's "Inside Out" concert (March 1), in which audience members sit among the musicians.

Also on the bill are country music star Brandy Clark (Sept. 4), Barenaked Ladies and Toad the Wet Sprocket (Oct. 1), Mandy Patinkin and "The Princess Bride" (Oct. 5), America (Nov. 2), "Sesame Street Live! Say Hello" (Nov. 19), and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis (April 27).

Tickets for all shows go on sale to Tilles members June 5 and to the general public on June 12. For the complete schedule and additional information, go to tillescenter.org.
