The hour draws near (well, actually, starting Monday) for that annual ritual known as the "upfronts" - when the networks unveil their fall lineups.

Here's a guide to the most-hyped possibilities (warning: while some of these are considered locks, not all will be picked up).

CBS

"Hawaii Five-O"

Surest of the sure bets out there is this remake of the '70s series. Cast includes Alex O'Loughlin as Steve McGarrett, Scott Caan as Danny and Jean Smart, who plays Hawaii's governor.

Reason to get excited Good cast, and longtime J.J. Abrams ("Lost," "Fringe," "Alias") collaborator Roberto Orsi is involved.

" -- My Dad Says"

This comedy is based on the Twitter sensation of roughly the same name.

Reason to get excited William Shatner stars, but will someone get this series a new name already?

NBC

"Outsourced"

A guy's job is outsourced to India, and he has to go there to train his replacement.

Reason to get excited John Jeffcoat's 2006 movie won some fans and film-festival awards.

"The Rockford Files"

When exactly did '70s TV get hot again? Another sure bet.

Reason to get excited How do you replace James Garner? Dermot Mulroney ("My Best Friend's Wedding") will give it a shot.

"Undercovers"

Husband and wife are an undercover spy team.

Reason to get excited Comes from J.J. Abrams. Also has two black leads - rare for a drama - Boris Kodjoe and Britain's Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

Fox

"Breakout Kings"

Marshals and ex-cons patch together an unlikely coalition to catch prison escapees.

Reason to get excited Matt Olmstead and Nick Santora of "Prison Break" are producing.

"Wilde Kingdom"

Rich twit falls for nice kid.

Reason to get excited Will Arnett, right, and Keri Russell are aboard; "Arrested Development's" Mitchell Hurwitz is its creator.

ABC

"187 Detroit"

Detroit homicide squad series has a quasi-documentary look and even some humor (and no, ABC does not welcome comparisons to "Reno 911!").

Reason to get excited Michael Imperioli, above, as a short-tempered cop.

CW

"Nikita"

Remake of "La Femme Nikita."

Reason to get excited Maggie Q as N.
