Affleck, Damon bringing back 'Project Greenlight' to HBO

Affleck, Damon reviving 'Project Greenlight'HBO reality-TV series "Project Greenlight," which followed a young filmmaker's progress after winning a competition to have a movie produced, is returning after an 11-year hiatus, Newsday contributor Frank Lovece reports. HBO said Wednesday that executive producers Ben Affleck and Matt Damon would also return. The series, which ran two seasons in 2001 and 2003, "was ahead of its time," Affleck said in a statement. "Now that technology has caught up to the concept, we thought it was a perfect time to bring it back. A whole new generation of filmmakers has grown up sharing everything, and the next big director could be just an upload away."
