Aha! 'Oprah' ended one year ago. . .just about now

"The Oprah Winfrey Show" ended exactly one year ago today and if you're reading this post at 4 p.m., it actually ended, well, kinda now.
Oprah! It's been a year! What have we learned over this past year. My own "aha!" revelations .?.?.
1.) That no matter how famous and fabulous you are, it's still really hard to launch a TV network, even in your own name.
2.) That fans really didn't fall into a depressive swoon over Oprah's absence. There was some terrible malady predicted (probably by the same guy who said our computers would freeze on Jan. 1, 2000): I think it was called something like OADD or "Oprah Attention Deficit Disorder." Never happened.
3.) That President Obama may go on late night shows, or do "The View" .?.?. but there's still no effect like "The Oprah Effect." If he loses this election, it may be because "Oprah" no longer airs.
4.) That her couch — now I think in the Smithsonian — actually quivers ever time a tourist walks by and says "Tom Cruise sat there .?.?."
5.) That I still miss O. Not afraid to admit it: I loved the girl, still do. Not all her weepiness, or narcissism, or occasional flights of utter foolishness. But her basic decency and extraordinary gift for the camera. No daytime talker in history was as capable, or had quite that God-given talent for TV — to address the camera and make you think that you were the only one in the whole darned world she was talking to. Maybe I do have OADD after all. (Hey .?.?. O and I go waaay back — but then so do you.)
Check out this finale clip — should bring back a rush of memories as well as all the silly stuff she — and we — were talking about a year ago today .?.?.
