'American Horror Story:' Well?

A big FX launch tonight at 10 - "American Horror Story," from "Glee" showrunners Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. The reviews? Decidedly mixed, as is mine. Here's the problem - and there are a few: The show's packed with horror tropes that have been mined from a hundred sources. It's homage, without anything particularly original. Here's the biggest online tease I could find.
