'American Idol' shows great behind-the-scenes footage

'American Idol' finalists will be singing songs from the movies next wek, with Jamie Foxx as guest mentor. They waste some time with the car commercial video; wow, Subarus are really looking sweet nowadays. It's one of the more boring commercials, something about a street cafe.

They then go behind the scenes to show us what show day Tuesdays are like for the contestants now, versus pre-'Idol.' Funniest is Aaron Kelly, "before, my Tuesdays used to be just about school." Ha!

Now... get up at 7 a.m., group breakfast at the studio, up to hair and makeup, to dress rehearsal, with stand-in judges that look vaguely like the real ones, it's hilarious; they even give them fake critiques.

"Tuesdays are good -- it's Wednesdays that I will dread forever," Michael Lynche deadpans.
