This just breaking now: Anderson Cooper will launch a daytime talk show out of NYC next fall.

He also signed a multiyear deal with CNN and will stay with "AC 360" for "years to come," per the network and Anderson.

The show? Lots of vague details - one hour; "fun"; on "compelling stories";  hopes to "relay important information and relate to people and the audience in a completely different way..."

Station clearances? None yet, but I would imagine this shouldn't be too much of a problem - he's got Telepictures behind him on this, one of the nation's real powerhouses in syndicated TV.  (Both TP and CNN are owned by Time Warner.) But keep in mind - lots and lots and lots of people are gonna be fighting for Oprah's time slot. Who knows who else will come out of the wordwork to launch a daytime talk show. And you can be certain: The old Katie Couric rumors will be revived soon enough, too.
