Harry Connick Jr. is back on "American Idol" as a guest mentor, with the four finalists singing a song from 2013 and then a classic song tonight. 
 Angie Miller up first, singing Rihanna's "Diamonds" while seated at the piano. Nice crackle in her voice; brings her usual sense of drama and touch. Not a great song choice for me -- it's inherently a limited song and there's no emotional connection so I'm not transfixed like I am sometimes by Miller.&nbsp;More like admiration of a good effort. 
 Keith Urban "commends" her try at creativity but said he kept "waiting for it to happen." Nicki Minaj, who's looking like Cleopatra tonight, calls it "bland, lackluster -- you can do a lot better." 
 Randy Jackson says the song "didn't go anywhere," but liked Miller's shorts. Mariah Carey thinks she was "playing to the camera" more than usual. 
 Amber Holcomb up next, singing Pink's "Just Give Me a Reason." She's undergone an amazing transformation this season and is probably my favorite contestant at this point.&nbsp; 
 Starts slow and emotional; really feels like she's living the words. Has this surprising charisma to her; cockiness and bounciness and sudden smile that makes her compelling. Vocals aren't amazing for me, but a great performance.&nbsp; 
 Minaj thought she wasn't relateable, "sometimes you were in, sometimes you were out." Jackson wants to know if she's having fun, doesn't think she's "carefree" anymore -- sums it up as "not stellar." 
 Carey is looking forward to the next performance; Urban just says it's not easy performing at this level, but liked her more than the others.
