NBC's "The Blacklist," which shoots frequently on Long Island and had staged a pivotal scene of its 2013 pilot episode in Long Beach, this week returned to film in that city as well as in neighboring Lido Beach.

The show, starring James Spader as a criminal mastermind who alternately helps and bewilders an FBI task force, shot a scene at the luxury oceanfront condominium Aqua on the Ocean at 403 E. Boardwalk in Long Beach. The episode, "Caelum Bank," written by Sean Hennen, is the 20th episode of season 9. Plot details were not revealed.

The episode additionally shot in Nickerson Beach Park, in Lido Beach, with a stunt involving two cars crashing and one car emitting smoke. Per usual procedure, Nassau County police, including the Arson Bomb Squad, and the county fire marshal were on hand. The shoot involved approximately 100 crew members operating three digital cameras as well as tower lights and camera-equipped picture cars.

Long Beach had also provided the locale for a major scene in the series' first episode, in which a dump truck smashes into an SUV and a gunfire ambush ensues on the Michael Valente Memorial Bridge, subbing for Washington, D.C.

"The Blacklist" has shot on Long Island locations including Republic Airport in East Farmingdale, Youngs Farm in Old Brookville, Bayville Bridge on the North Shore, and Hempstead Town Hall along with its Nathan L.H. Bennett Pavilion plaza.

Meanwhile, "Manifest," the paranormal drama about the passengers and crew of a newly landed airliner who learn they've been missing for five years, is also set to shoot in Long Beach this week. The series, which originally aired on NBC, now streams on Netflix.
