This you have to watch: Bob Costas this week on “Conan,” whacking NBC's idiotic decision to break into the closing ceremonies with a preview of bad new sitcom, “Animal Practice.” It is priceless. He tells Coco that NBC had a very tough balancing decision to make .?.?. "Pete Townsend ["The Who” were bumped until after the preview] or monkey in a lab coat.”

He then noted, “You'll attest, Conan, that when it comes to the tough calls, NBC usually gets 'em right .?.?." He is referring to Conan — but may also be referring to the “Today Show” decision to air a Kris Jenner interview Tuesday instead of break away for a moment of silence (it was after all, 9/11). NBC News did, however, apologize to affiliates, per a report.
