Brooke Burke-Charvet reveals she has thyroid cancer

"Dancing with the Stars" co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet told the world today via YouTube that she needs to have a thyroidectomy following positive test results for a nodule on her thyroid.  

Saying she didn't want people to "read about it and get the wrong idea [because] I feel really good and never felt better which is what's so crazy about this whole thing," this (below) was posted on the Modernmom Youtube channel - of which she's co-COO.   

Unclear about how her diagnosis might impact "Dancing with the Stars" she says she's expected to have full recovery, though a neck scar. [Her spokeswoman in fact just told me: "Her work schedule will not be affected."]

And yes — this is a highly unusual way to announce pending surgery, but Brooke (as those who follow her on Twitter know) is pretty compulsive about sharing what she's going through at any given moment .?.?.
