Cablevision adds BBC America
Finally: One of the great missing channels has been made available to Cablevision customers.
BBC America -- home of "Dr. Who" and other groovy programs -- will be available Thursday on Channel 101 for Cablevision's IO customers. (Cablevision owns Newsday.)
Also joining Cablevision are TV One, a channel aimed at African-American viewers (Channel 178) and Reelzchannel, (Channel 177), a network for movie fans that was also where the infamous "Kennedys" miniseries landed after the History channel dumped it.
